Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole is the only city outside Paris to be part of the elite in the biggest team sports. It has 8 elite clubs at a national standard and hosts international sporting events. The city is home to a wide array of sports: From popular sports like football, rugby and basketball to more niche ones like roller hockey, water polo, ice hockey and many more.

Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole has stadiums, training centres, an Olympic pool, golf courses, major facilites and other infrastructures to host your sporting/corporate event with the option to hire out the venues.

 

RUGBY STADIUM

GGL Stadium

The GGL Stadium is the official rugby stadium for the MHR team (Montpellier Hérault Rugby). It hosts national and international competitions in the Ovalie district, west of the city, and seats 12,000 people. The stadium is part of a complex that also includes a regional competition stadium and 2 training centres for rugby schools.

      La Mosson stadium in the La Paillade district, north of Montpellier, seats 22,000 people. It is currently the home stadium for the MHSC football team (Montpellier Hérault Sport Club).

      The Montpellier football team also has its own training centre. Some of the MHSC centre is available for private hire to host your business meetings and functions.

      Projet stade Louis Nicollin

      Montpellier Council has launched a major project to design a new stadium: Stade Louis Nicollin. The new stadium on the edge of Montpellier could seat 24,000 spectators and fulfil environmental, transport, accessibility, economic and employment requirements to make the stadium, MHSC and the area more appealing.

      Handball stadium

      FDI Stadium

      The FDI Stadium is an indoor hall for playing handball and the official stadium for the MHB team (Montpellier Handball). The site has hosted countless tournaments and seats 2900 people. It’s also available for private hire for sporting/business events.
